The Lord answered me: Write down this vision; clearly inscribe it on tablets so one may easily read it. (Habakkuk 2:2 HCSB)
This is the verse God used to stir my heart when He called me to write. Maybe you feel that prompting too.
If so, sweet friend, you have a message to share. The world is waiting to hear from you. No one else is equipped to share your story, has your unique perspective. I want to encourage you in your blogging journey by sharing some resources that have helped me.
My Favorite Blogging & Writing Tools
Books To Read
♥ I heart books and love learning through reading. Three favorites that have helped me in my blogging journey are Platform by Michael Hyatt, Communicating for a Change by Andy Stanley, and How to Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul by Ruth Soukup. You can find more book recommendations on my Reads page.
♥ MailChimp is my email service provider. They’re free for the first 2,000 subscribers, including automation!
♥ For fonts, graphics, mockups, and more Creative Market can’t be beat. They even offer 6 freebies every week!
♥ If you haven’t already, I invite you to check out the #HeartEncouragment Community Linkup. You have words that will build up and bless others, so I’m asking you to share those words with us. I’m looking for posts that will bring heart encouragement to others, and I would love to have you as part of the #HeartEncouragement Community. ♥
♥ For hosting I use and recommend SiteGround. You can get started for just $3.95 a month.
♥ BoardBooster is a Pinterest scheduling tool. I have the $5 a month plan which allows me to schedule 500 pins a month.
♥ For social sharing on the blog I use Social Warfare. They do have a free version, which I started with. But I upgraded to the paid version for Twitter counts and extra customization options.
The following three writing communities—COMPEL, Elite Blog Academy, and Word Weavers—encourage and equip me in my call to write, while providing community for my heart to connect. I’m so thankful for each of them.
♥ COMPEL Training is a monthly membership community and is part of Proverbs 31 Ministries. It only opens up a couple of times per year. But if you sign up for their waiting list, they’ll send you a free gift: Sticky Statements: Writing Quotable Content by Lysa TerKeurst.
♥ Signing up for the waiting list for Elite Blog Academy will give you access to Ruth’s weekly tips and free trainings throughout the year. I’m so blessed by Ruth Soukup’s voice in my ear that helps me know where to focus and realize I don’t have to do it all.
♥ Word Weavers International‘s mission is to help members hone their unique voice, strive for the exceptional and not settle for the mundane, and raise the quality of their writing to a publishable level. I meet with my local group monthly where we pray, encourage, and equip one another in our writing journeys.
♥ Amy Lynn Andrews sends out her weekly Useletter filled with valuable tips and resources for bloggers. I look forward to seeing her name in my inbox every Saturday. : )
I pray these resources encourage you in your blogging journey and that you persevere to share your unique message.
