Welcome back to our Marriage Monday Monthly Mission. Our goal with these missions is to make little changes that will prayerfully make big differences in the atmosphere of our marriages as we pursue God’s heart and seek to glorify Him in all we do.
Each month I will check in and share with you how the previous month’s mission went in my home and invite you to check in and share in the comments how the mission went in your home.
60-second kiss for 60 days.
Because of the break, I’m writing this to you at the halfway point for me. So I’m hoping the new year gives us a fresh start because we’re struggling with this one.
First it’s daily. So sometimes we forget. Or we remember late and rush through so we can get to sleep. And while I’m content with just a kiss, Tim can end up feeling rather frustrated by the end. So there’s that.
But I believe this mission has the potential to increase the intimacy in our marriage. So we will continue on.
Marriage Monday Monthly Mission – February 2017
Take a marriage assessment.
“Every marriage has both strengths and opportunities for growth.” Focus on the Family
You have to know where you are to get to where you want to be. And while there may be other marriage assessments out there, Click Here for the one Tim and I took from Focus on the Family.
The Focus on Marriage Assessment looks at 12 traits of marriage: Commitment, spiritual, communication, conflict, time, cherishing, nourish, shared responsibility, intimacy, community, healthy individuals, and coping. Then based on your answers, it determines areas of strength and growth opportunities.
As we seek God’s heart for our marriages, let’s start with knowing where we are so we can draw closer to God and our husbands.
What’s on your heart? How are you doing with the 60-second kiss? What was your top strength and biggest growth opportunity? Our top strength is commitment. Our biggest growth opportunity is conflict.
