A few weeks ago during Marriage Monday Monthly Mission – June, I promised I would share some ideas for sharing those words of affirmation you have been writing down with your husband.
You have been writing down one thing you love about your husband every day, haven’t you? If not, there’s no time like the present to start. : )
The biggest benefit to writing down one thing you love about your husband every day is for you. The process of writing down words of affirmation for him opens your eyes to reveal the good in your husband. Then on those really hard days you have something to look back on to remind yourself why you love your husband.
Those days when your husband is least deserving of your kind words
are the days he needs them the most.
So on those especially hard days when you have determined to write something you love about your husband every day, ask God for help. Every time I have sought God for help coming up with one thing I love about my husband, He has been faithful to bring something to my remembrance.
So here are some ideas you can use to share those words of affirmation you have been writing down as an encouragement both to your husband and to you.
5 Ways to Affirm Your Husband
1.) A Letter or Public Proclamation: Just like I shared 45 reasons I love my husband on this site for his 45th birthday, share why you love your man in a letter. And if you have a blog, publicly proclaim why you love your husband.
2.) 52 Reasons I Love You: This is a Pinterest favorite. Using an old deck of cards, write down 52 reasons you love your husband. Click Here for the tutorial on PaperVine.
3.) A Words of Affirmation Box: Similar to the Scripture Promise Box, just fill a box with slips of paper containing your answer to “I love you because …”
4.) 365 Reasons I Love You: Here is another Pinterest find. Fill a mason jar with 365 slips of paper containing 365 reasons you love your man. Click Here for the tutorial on Paint Speckled Pawprints.
5.) A Love Message Board: While I write down one thing I love about my husband every day in my journal, I started over two years ago by writing down one thing I love about my husband every day as a way to love my husband in his language. You can see the Love Message Board I created for Tim by clicking here.
I hope these ideas inspire you as you consider ways you can encourage your husband with words of affirmation and bless yourself as the practice reminds you why you love your husband. : )
Blessed to be linking up with Sheila at Wifey Wednesday.
Rest in His presence.
