As much as our husbands need our prayers, we need to be praying for our husbands.
Have you ever noticed when you were praying for someone how your attitude changed toward them? Maybe you started praying with the motive to change them or God to reveal the error of their ways, but as you prayed God slowly softened your heart to their struggles as He revealed the burdens they carried.
“If women realized how directly God holds men responsible for so much, we’d pray unceasingly for them.” – Beth Moore, Beloved Disciple
Today I feel a strong urge to pray for my own husband and husbands in general and to cover them in prayer. If you will join me, let us go to God in prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in praise and filled with a desire to be the wife my husband needs. I lift up all husbands to You and specifically my own.
I pray You will place a hedge of protection around him and surround him with Your presence. I ask that You guard him against the plans of the enemy and hold him in Your perfect peace.
Lord, I pray You continue to draw him to You and give him a greater desire for Your word. Help him to reflect You in his speech, thoughts, and actions.
I ask You to open up doors of opportunity and bless the work of his hands. I pray You bring him both satisfaction and success in all his labors.
Lord, help him to be a good steward of all You have entrusted to him and to place his trust in You. I ask You to lead him and guide him with Your wisdom in all that he does. In Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.
